January and February Empties #4

I keep my empties in an old beauty subscription box and at the end of February it was overflowing - I think I'm gonna need a bigger box at the rate I'm going! Without further ado, let's review what beauty products I've used up over the last few months and whether I'll be re-purchasing them now or in the future.

COLAB Dry Shampoo in Paris 200ml - £3.49
This dry shampoo is a regular re-purchase and Paris is one of my favourite scents; a musky floral with notes of Rose, Jasmine and Patchouli. As well as refreshing my oily hair it adds a touch of volume, which I haven't found with other dry shampoos.
Re-purchase? Yes - though I've decided to try Tokyo next.

OGX Kukui Oil Conditioner 385ml - £6.99
As per normal I used up the matching shampoo to this aaaages ago. The conditioner is thick and creamy, but doesn't weigh the hair down, leaving it looking sleek and feeling smooth.
Re-purchase? In the future yes, but have quite a few others to use up first.

The Body Shop Glazed Apple Bath Jelly 250ml* - £10.00
Glazed Apple is one of my favourite ever scents from The Body Shop and it translates really well in this bath jelly. I loved using the little scoop to dispense the jelly under the running water and create a layer of light, foamy bubbles.
Re-purchase? It's only released at Christmas, but I would love to use it again.

Lush Butterbear Bath Bomb - £1.95
Butterbear is only available at Christmas and I've bought one the last few years in a row now, simply because it's so moisturising. It contains Cocoa Butter and Ylang Ylang Oil and has a gorgeous buttery scent.
Re-purchase? Yes.

You can't beat a cleansing oil to remove makeup and impurities and DHC's offering is so effective, with Olive Oil as its base. However it isn't too heavy nor too greasy and emulsifies into a milky liquid when you add water, which means it's easy to remove and doesn't leave behind any residue.
Re-purchase? Yes.

Origins GinZing Moisturiser 75ml - Pot size limited edition
I love this moisturiser - it's perfect for re-balancing oily skin with its lightweight, gel-cream formula. I've found that my t-zone gets nowhere near as oily/shiny through the day when I use this in the morning and it injects some life back into it too.
Re-purchase? Yes, already have a 50ml pot on the go.

Claudia Louch Botanical Face Cream with Deep Line Complex 40ml* - £61.50
I generally used this moisturiser in the evenings due to the rich, velvety formula and the high natural oil content, which means it takes awhile to absorb. It's super nourishing and perfect for winter.
Re-purchase? Unfortunately it's a bit out of my price range at the moment.

Elemental Herbology Facial Detox Mask 75ml - £28.00
I love a clay based face mask and highly recommend Elemental Herbology's. Packed full of natural ingredients, it's so effective at reducing excess oil, redness and inflammation.
Re-purchase? I'll definitely come back to this mask at some point!

This was one of those impulse purchases during my Tesco food shop. It has a gorgeously fruity scent, but as an exfoliator it's fairly average; the grains are not concentrated enough for me.
Re-purchase? No.

I am obsessed with this mascara right now, so much so I'm not tempted to try any of the recent mascara releases on the high street. It lengthens, defines, curls, adds volume and stays put allllll day.
Re-purchase? Already have!

theBalm Sexy Mama Anti-Shine Translucent Powder - £15.00
I've re-purchased Sexy Mama quite a few times - it's always in my handbag in times of a shine emergency! It's pressed so there's no risk of it spilling everywhere and is talc free, so won't block pores.
Re-purchase? Yes.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer SPF15 10ml - £20.00
Oil free and mineral based, the Hourglass primer is the best primer I've tried - it really does keep my makeup in place all day. I still wince at the price though.
Re-purchase? I have (while wincing).

I have tried countless hand creams and the Roger and Gallet range are definitely in my top 3. As per the name, they have quite a balmy texture to them but are still creamy and do a great job of hydrating and softening my hands. Bienfaits is a very fruity and uplifting scent but I do prefer Fleur de Figuier.
Re-purchase? Not at the moment (I still have the Fleur de Figuier one on the go).

This Works Sleep Plus+ Pillow Spray 10ml - worth £3.33
I'm quite a poor sleeper and this pillow spray, with its aromatherapeutic mix of Vetiver, Lavender and Patchouli Oils, actually makes a noticeable difference to the quality of my sleep.
Re-purchase? The 75ml bottle is now essential on my bedside table!

What empties have you used up recently?

  1. Okay, are we the same person? Because we have a lot in common. I have oily skin too, so I am making a note of all the purchases you mentioned (Hourglass primer, I am wincing too, and Origins GinZing moisturiser), plus I sleep like crap. I have gotten through so many travel size bottles of the This Works Deep Sleep spray, it is one of my favourite scents in the world now. Tokyo is my favourite out of all the collab range, I hope you like it and the Maybelline Lash mascara stays in my pocket wherever I go. Great post! I always run out of my shampoo long before reaching even the halfway point of my conditioner, so a little trick I use is to slather conditioner on my legs and arms and use it as a shaving balm for when I shave my legs. I have super sensitive skin and shaving can sometimes cause cuts but because the conditioner is so thick and moisturising the razor just glides across easily (even the cheap £1 razors) and my legs feel so soft, silky and smooth afterwards.

  3. I am obsessed with that Maybelline mascara too. I usually have a few mascaras on the go at once, but at the moment I find myself using this one everyday, it's amazing!! I feel like I need to get that Elemental Herbology, it keeps popping up now and then and I am hearing good things.

  4. You just had to have repurchased the Maybelline Mascara so glad you said you did. I just recently reviewed the OGX Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner on my page and wasn't a fan but I'm looking in the future to potentially try out some of the other products from the range. Can I just say as well I really like the layout of your empties post, with the repurchase part at the end.

  5. I keep mine in a small draw which is such a bad idea because it overflows all the time so I've got random empty bottles on my desk and floor haha! That anti-shine powder by the balm sounds great, I must look into that!

  9. I love the kukui oil Shampoo and Conditioner however I am the complete opposite to you, I always find my conditioner has finished before my Shampoo has even reached half way! I think this is because my hair is sooo long, thick and damaged so I require more conditioner.
