Who's Behind the Blogger?

I think it's fair to say that for many blogs, if not all blogs, there isn't just the blogger that's behind it but someone else too. It's someone you might never see and someone you might never even hear about, but they are always there. It's the person in your life who gives you moral blog support; the one you tell all your blog related news to; maybe the one that takes your OOTD or FOTD photos; or the one that puts up with your increasing makeup/skincare/nail varnish collection as it takes over the bedroom/bathroom/spare room.

For me, that person is my husband. He is definitely that one that puts up with experiences all of the above, plus more. I regularly steal his camera for taking blog photos for example, then don't delete them when I've put them on the computer, so it clogs up the memory. He calmly reminds me how to use Photoshop when I forget how to do something on it and get frustrated. He also designed my original blog header when I first started out, which I loved and used for years. My husband is certainly a big part of my blog behind the scenes and he really deserves credit for that.

Of course occasionally he is amused/intrigued/confused/despairing of bloggy things or the beauty products I use. So over quite a long period I noted down a number of funny comments he made and picked my favourites, purely for your amusement (he will probably kill me);

1. I decide to have a bath and use a bath bomb from Lush called Bombardino. My husband walks past and observes, "your bath looks like wee".

2. Husband: "It stinks in here!!" (Our bedroom.) Me: "Like what?" Him: "Like The Body Shop."

3. Him: "What's that on your face?!" Me: "A clay based face mask." Him: "Eurgghhhhhhhhh!"

4. "It smells like an old person" - referring to my Pixi Glow Tonic.

5. Him commenting on me applying my concealer in a triangle shape under my eyes: "Why are you doing that? Is it inspired by clowns?"

6. "How many products do you put on your face??!!" - I regularly get this one when doing my nighttime skincare routine...

7. ...However after doing the male makeup selfie on Facebook for cancer research, I think he sort of started to understand why when struggling to remove it; "No wonder you go through that face routine every day, you need to get all this sh*t off!"

8. I bought a new white headband from The Body Shop to take my fringe away from my face when cleansing. My husband asks, "Why are you wearing a tennis headband?"

9. Finally, the question I thought he'd never ask when I was putting the makeup on him for the afore mentioned selfie in number 7... "Can you put more blusher on me please? My cheeks don't look colourful enough." I doubt I'll ever hear that again, but I threw it in because I found it absolutely hilarious.

I'd love to hear from all you lovely bloggers about the person behind your blog?

  2. Haha love this! There are a few people behind our blog, including my blogtographer pal, Craig! Today: "Why did you wear that dress? It's one of my least favourite outfits of yours." "Okay, let's try that again but try not looking like a witch." - Hahahaha!

  3. Ha I am sure Steve thought pretty much all of this before blogging himself, now it is a race as to who gets the camera first or you get lumbered taking all the photos x

  8. Oh this really made me chuckle! I had a Lush bath last night using some Gold rings left over from Christmas and when I got in the bath I thought 'hmm it looks like glittery wee'! I'm trying to think of anything my boyfriend says. He calls mascara massacre! x

  9. Hahaha, number 9! I once asked my husband to take photos of my face for a post on strobing, and he asked me if I was supposed to look like I'd been out in the rain. The stuff they come out with! x
