I'm not usually one for buying a product purely based on its looks, but when it comes to Lush I get totally sucked in by pretty colours, quirky shapes, sparkles, cute accessories... oh hello The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar! I first spotted this new Christmas release on Instagram and mentally added it to my wishlist pretty much instantly.
The bubble bar is shaped like a star and is placed at the end of a cinnamon stick, with a red ribbon and bell tied around it. The star itself is a beautiful burnt orange shade covered in gold glimmer and tangerine lustre and contains a dried Star Anise in the middle, surrounded by fair trade, whole organic Cloves. Add to that a scent combination of sweet Almond Essential Oil, uplifting Sweet Orange Oil and spicy Cinnamon Leaf Oil, The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar really seems to be the ultimate product for your bath for the festive season, costing £5.95.
I find The Magic of Christmas works better holding it directly under running water, but it is fun to swirl it in the water too for the full wand effect! What I really like about this type of bubble bar is that you can really control how much you use and not make a mess with crumbling it into the water. I left it under the water for quite awhile as I wanted lots of bubbles, also turning the water a light orange shade. The scent itself is lovely, but it doesn't translate over as strongly in the water as I expected. I think this is because it's primarily the orange that comes through and you don't really get that spicy kick of cinnamon so much. I should get about 3 baths out of this bubble bar, which makes it pretty good value for money when you compare it against the price of their one-use-only bath bombs.
Overall The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar does get a thumbs up from me, but for me it would be even better if it had a stronger cinnamon scent. Find it on the Lush website here.
