Superdrug Travel Essentials

I am so excited to be going on my first foreign holiday in four years this September to Italy, which also happens to be my honeymoon AND my first ever two week break. To be honest excited isn't really the word! For me, the airport shopping is part of the whole holiday experience - hello duty free! Plus of course those last minute buys after inevitably forgetting the essentials like suncream or insect repellent!

My nearest airport is Bristol, which has recently undergone a terminal extension where Superdrug has unveiled a huge and stylish new store for travellers to stock up on cosmetics, skincare and toiletries, pre and post holiday. To celebrate, they have kindly sent me some of their top travel essentials, which will be perfect to take with me to Italy.

I hate putting bottles, tubes and tubs into my suitcase or carry on bag loose, so a cosmetic bag is a must for the organised, tidy side of me. Clear ones like this are great too as you can instantly see what you put inside, saving a panicked rifle through everything to find what you're after. This one is a travel friendly size and very affordable.

A cooling spray is perfect for instant relief on a warm and humid day, whether in the UK or abroad! Superdrug's offering is more of a mist than a spray, which means it dries quickly and doesn't disturb makeup when used on your face. The cooling effect is instant and soothing.

I haven't had any insect bites recently to be able to fully test this spray, but this mini 50ml can will certainly come in handy at some point! I remember getting so many bites when I went to Portugal, which really irritated my skin. This spray contains Witch Hazel, Menthol and Bisabolol, which also gives it a really refreshing scent.

I rarely use facial wipes, but they are of course very travel friendly. I like that these do not contain alcohol and include more skin friendly ingredients like Witch Hazel Water, Vitamin E and Horse Chestnut Seed Extract. The wipes aren't too wet nor too dry and do feel soft on the skin. They are also available in packs for dry and normal skin.

Whether in gel or wipe form, an anti-bacterial product is always in my handbag because you never know when you might need it! These have a lemon fragrance to them, which unfortunately does make me think of bathroom cleaning products, but really you can't go wrong with these when in need.

I love the fact Solait offer a 50ml squeezy pouch of their Moisturising Sun Lotion. When you're on holiday you don't want to carry around a big or heavy bag on days out, so a light and compact pouch  like this is ideal. I'll definitely pick up another of these for general use too. The Lip Protection Balm from the same range is another great product; I'll always use a lip balm but rarely any of them contain SPF. This one has a subtle vanilla flavour and leaves the lips feeling soft and hydrated.

What are your favourite travel essentials? Which shops do you head to in the airport pre or post holiday?
