I have mentioned countless times over the years that my favourite hand creams are by the French brand L'Occitane and I'm never usually without one (I always stock up when Marie Claire give them away free every winter!). However recently I've been reaching for the Roger and Gallet hand creams in Fleur de Figuier and Bienfiats and do you know what, they are very close to knocking L'Occitane off the top spot.
With very similar squeezy 30ml tubes, the Roger and Gallet hand creams are £6.00 each (which is £2.00 less than L'Occitane's). The formula is wax based and so the creams actually have a balm like texture, which is still creamy but on the denser side. Ingredients include Shea Butter, Aloe Vera and Apricot Kernel Oil to hydrate and nourish the skin, although my one gripe is that these are about halfway down the ingredients list and so they may not be quite intense enough in the midst of winter. Although the formula absorbs quickly, it leaves a long lasting, soft and protective layer on the skin, meaning I can't stop feeling my hands afterwards!
However what I absolutely love about the Roger and Gallet hand creams I have are the scents - they are classic and sophisticated with a lot of depth to them. Fleur de Figuier is definitely my favourite; with a blend of Fig Leaves, Fig Milk and Cedarwood, it is sweet yet musky and just divine. Bienfiats is more fruity due to the cocktail of Blood Orange, Ginseng, Kiwi, Lemon, Bitter Cherry and Cranberry Seed Oil and so is beautifully uplifting.
You can purchase Roger and Gallet hand creams from Escentual here. Other scents include Rose and Fleur d'Osmanthus. (Pssst... they're also a third off until the end of August!)
Have you tried any products by Roger and Gallet? I'd also love to hear what your favourite hand cream is!
