Review: Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil

I am a big fan of micellar waters and lately I've noticed the benefit of micellar being incorporated into other skincare products. I've been testing one of these such products for over a month now; the Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil. Bit of a mouthful isn't it?!

Oils generally have fantastic cleansing properties anyway, but add in the micellar particles that grab onto the dirt and impurities on your skin and you have a sum which should equal effective and effortless cleansing. The Vichy Micellar Oil is designed to remove even waterproof makeup, excess sebum and dead skin cells on all skintypes, while softening and moisturising with added Camelia Oil and Vitamin E. It costs £13.75 for a 125ml bottle.

The first thing I will point out is that this contains a high level of Paraffin Liquidium (aka mineral oil), which is widely used in beauty products for its non-irritating, moisturising properties. I generally avoid this ingredient for fear of it clogging my pores, so I built up my use of the Vichy Micellar Oil slowly incase it didn't agree with my skin. The bottle has a pump dispenser and generally 2-3 pumps is enough for the entire face and eyes. The oil is extremely lightweight and is silky as opposed to greasy. It cleanses my skin thoroughly, making extremely easy work of eyeshadow and mascara and melting it away, which means it's ideal for a first nighttime cleanse. The oil turns into a milk upon contact with water and rinses away easily without leaving any residue. I'm very happy to report that the formula hasn't had any negative effect on my skin and does leave it soft and smooth.

To add the Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil to your skincare routine, you can purchase it from Escentual here. Plus there's a third off until the end of June making it currently only £9.16!

Have you tried the Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil? What is your favourite cleansing oil?

  4. It sounds like this works really well for you and I'd loved the sound of it you said about the mineral oil which unfortunately really disagrees with my skin :( what a shame as it sounds fab otherwise!

    1. I'd prefer it without mineral oil, but thankfully it doesn't seem to have had any negative effects xx

  5. I'm currently trying this out and love it! I thought The Body Shop's Camomile silky cleansing oil was my favourite but now I'm not so sure as I think this is probably even more silky and smooth against the skin than x
