Recent Beauty Buys #4

I love a good beauty haul, though to be honest the products in today's post have been purchased over the last few months, rather than all in one go. I haven't bought much makeup at all recently, it's been mostly skincare, which is what I needed. Aren't I sensible.

The one item of makeup I have bought is a little out of my comfort zone - the L'Oreal La Nude Palette in Rose. I normally go for palettes with brown, taupe and bronze tones and this does contain a few of these shades, but also soft pinks, mauves and grey. When I googled swatches I was blown away by how gorgeous the colours are - they're classic and sophisticated.

After falling in love with the OGX Kukui Oil Shampoo and Conditioner, I made a beeline for the other product in the range - the Kukui Oil Anti-frizz Hydrating Oil. I've been using it for awhile now and it eliminates frizz without leaving any greasy residue and has the same scent - nutty but sweet. Love it.

Over the May bank holiday I took advantage of Naturismo's 15% discount code and re-purchased the Antipodes Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping Serum (full review here). This moisture boosting formula is the perfect prep for my skin in the mornings and the super thin consistency is well suited for the warmer weather. I also added the Green People Toning Hydrating Mist to my basket - I'm having a real moment with hydrating toners and I loved the sound of this one. I've been using it after the Pixi Glow Tonic and the combination of Damask Rose Floral Water, Orange Blossom Floral Water and Marshmallow is beautifully refreshing.

After posting my skincare wishlist last month, I very quickly crossed two things off of it after a trip to Boots - the Origins GinZing Moisturiser and Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+. Origins currently have a limited edition 75ml pot of the GinZing Moisturiser for just £2.00 more than the standard 50ml size, so it made sense to go for the bigger pot! My first impressions of both products are very good - they have super light formulas that absorb quickly and smell absolutely amazing. I promise I will post full reviews in future!

Escentual currently have 1/3 off French Pharmacy products so I finally bought the La Roche-Posay Effaclar AI, which was recommended to me ages ago as an effective targeted spot treatment. I have a tea tree oil based treatment already, but it works better on open spots and I really needed something for those larger, lumpier ones. It is designed to deeply purify bacteria, prevent new imperfections and encourage skin regeneration. Can't wait to see if this works!
