Despite being an avid fan of the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation for many years, I haven't until now tried any of their other makeup products. I've been trying out the Dermablend Corrective Stick Foundation for awhile now, which offers all of the benefits of the liquid formula, just in a different form. This includes high coverage, all day wear, non-comedogenic ingredients, SPF30 and no fragrance. I have the shade Opal, which is the lightest in the range.
The Dermablend Corrective Stick Foundation has a thick, creamy consistency, but with that slightly tacky feeling that stick formulations often have. I've said before that the shade Opal is actually quite dark for very pale skin, but with the Fluid Foundation I can make it work with a good brush and thorough blending. However it's much harder with the Stick Foundation - when you compare both Opal shades side by side, the Stick Foundation actually has a much stronger orange tone to it. The consistency makes it more difficult to blend and as a result I find that the colour can sit more on top of my skin, making it more obvious, especially when just targeting blemishes. There's no doubt that the coverage capability remains and is still fantastic (it can even be used to cover tattoos), but unfortunately I just can't get this to work with my skintone. However if you have a medium skintone then do not dismiss this, because the product itself is great. If Vichy release a lighter shade in the future then I would definitely try it again.

Have you tried the Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation Stick? Are you a fan of this sort of formula for concealer?

I so wish they did a lighter shade, as it's so dark :( it sounds amazing coverage wise and I love Vichy! xx
ReplyDeleteVichy contacted me and said they'd noted my feedback about the shades. Maybe one day they'll extend the shade range - fingers crossed! xx
DeleteIt's a shame about the shade! I love Vichy :( I hope they change it up a bit soon, as I would love to try this

DeleteI bought this a year ago and was so disappointed with it, the shade doesn't match my skin, it looks cakey and just doesn't look good at all on me :( x

It's horrible when you're disappointed by something isn't it. How annoying it didn't work for you xx
DeleteI think I'm probably far too pale to get on with this which is a shame!
ReplyDeleteYou'd probably have the same issue as me :-( xx
DeleteSuch a shame about the shade range, but the coverage sounds incredible!

The Vichy foundations offer amazing coverage, so hopefully they'll make them more suitable for a wider range of skin tones xx
DeleteI'm really struggling as well with getting concealer shades that "mesh" well with my skintone-I'm a neutral skintone so anything too yellow or pink immediately stands out. I'm still on the hunt for a brand with a more accommodating shade range!
