Wedding Pinspiration: Hair, Makeup and Nails

Many of you who follow this blog or follow me on Twitter will know that my wedding is in April. I've been planning it for over 18 months now and I can't believe it's nearly here! At the moment there's lot of little things to do - decide on the seating plan, put together the music playlist for the evening etc. I've also been booking in my hair and makeup trials and a nail appointment for the day before the wedding. I haven't done a wedding post for awhile and as I write about beauty every week, I thought it was only right that I share what I have in mind for my wedding day!

Hair
I've been growing out my hair since I got engaged as I want to have my hair up on the big day. I always wear it down and I don't want to have it curled, because I know they'll drop out by the evening. In my head I have a loose, wavy up do, perhaps with some plaits added in, that all come together in a bun with a real flower/flowers on the side. I originally said I didn't want a veil, but now I'm playing with the idea of having a veil fitted under the bun, so I am going to try this when I go for my final dress fitting in March.

Makeup
If you google wedding makeup tips, the biggest one you can find is to go for a look that is a) you (so don't go for a red lip if you hardly ever wear one) and b) timeless, so when you look back in 30 years time you won't wonder why you went for that bright blue eyeshadow. My gorgeous friend and fellow blogger Alessia (check out her blog here) is doing my makeup and I'm so happy that she is, as I love her and have complete trust in her. I've asked her for a fresh, natural look that's very Spring orientated - soft pink cheeks, nude-pink lips with a slight sheen, a neutral coloured eye with a hint of shimmer and definition, brown eyeliner and some individual lashes.

Nails
My wedding dress is very simple but perfect for me - it's lace all over with absolutely no bling, ruffles or any kind of added accessories. So straight away I knew I wanted to go a bit more glitzy with my nails - I absolutely love glitter nail varnish as some of you will know. I've asked my nail technician for a nude-pink base with glitter ombré tips, which will be eye catching but not too over the top.

If you have any tips for wedding day beauty, then please share them in the comments below. I'd love to hear what you wore or what you would wear for your wedding day?
