Review: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Cosmetics have recently released a new mascara to add to the family of BADgal and They're Real! and it's called Roller Lash. The idea is that you don't need to use eyelash curlers before applying Roller Lash, thanks to the unique Hook and Roll brush, which is made up of lots of teeny tiny hooks to grab, separate, lift and curl the lashes. The formula also contains Provitamins B and Serin to condition the lashes, is water resistant and gives a satin finish. I have the mini version of Roller Lash, which Benefit gave away with the latest edition of Elle magazine before the full size was even on sale - good move Benefit! The full size has since been released early and is available to buy for £19.50.

I try to use eyelash curlers as little as possible because my lashes can become weak very quickly and I'm pleased to report that my curlers will be continuing to stay in a drawer thanks to Roller Lash. This is definitely the toned down version of They're Real! - Roller Lash lengthens and curls the lashes but not with quite so much drama and impact. Therefore it's the perfect mascara for daytime and it will keep that curl all day. The formula isn't too dry or too wet; though occasionally it does clump a few lashes together, so I tend to keep a mascara comb on hand just incase. The only other thing I would say is that on me, Roller Lash smudges a little onto the outer corner of my lower lash line, however I have this problem with most mascaras unfortunately. Unlike They're Real!, it's super easy to remove at the end of the day with either a micellar water or with an oil or cream cleanser.

All in all, I'm really impressed with Roller Lash and it's my favourite Benefit mascara hands down, so don't dismiss Roller Lash if you didn't get on with BADgal or They're Real!. Find it online here.

Have you tried the new Benefit Roller Lash mascara? Are you a fan?

    1. It's been very hyped so I'm sure some will inevitably be disappointed, but I do think it does a great job xx

  2. I got a sample from my birtchbox. I love it, but I would never spend $24 on mascara. I think the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara is very comparable and a third of the price.

    1. It is at the higher end of the price bracket. I haven't tried the L'Oreal mascara you mentioned, so I'll have to remember that for the future xx

  3. I think I need to try a sample first! I like both They're Real and BADgal, I don't see the need for a new kid on the block!

    1. See if you can pick up one with Elle magazine :-) I wasn't keen on BADgal, so for me this is a more toned down version of They're Real xx

  4. Think I am the only one who isn't fussed on this, I just found it a bit 'meh'. But, I adore They're Real, is my HG!
