Review: No7 High Shine Lipgloss in Smile

Lipgloss is one of those products I go through phases of wearing and I'm currently having a moment with the No7 High Shine Lipgloss in Smile. I recently bought the No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter (review to come) and received a free No7 Perfect Lips Kit from the lovely lady at the counter. In the kit was a lipstick, lip brush and the lipgloss I'm reviewing today. I think when you get a freebie like this you don't always expect much from the products, which can often result in a pleasant surprise!

The No7 High Shine Lipgloss is described as "a collagen boosting, moisturising gloss that glides on for voluptous smoothing shine". It also contains SPF15, which I think is quite unusual for a lipgloss, so this is a fab bonus. There are 15 shades in the range, from nude to red, which are advertised as having a "subtle" colour payoff. To add one of these glosses to your collection it will cost £9.00.

The No7 High Shine Lipgloss comes in a compact tube with a doe foot shaped sponge applicator. The shade Smile is a pretty, dusky pink with no shimmer and subtle as promised - I'd say it's that your-lips-but-better colour. While I don't see any lip plumping effects from this gloss, I do love the high shine look and its smooth, moisturising feel. The formula is quite thick but not sticky or tacky, plus it's smells and tastes gorgeous; quite sweet and fruity.

While I don't think I'd part with 9 of my pounds for another No7 High Shine Lipgloss, I would definitely oblige if I had one of the No7 vouchers that Boots regularly give out. If you're looking for a daytime lipgloss or one to layer over a lipstick, this is for you. Don't buy it for the lip plumping properties though.

Are you a lipgloss lover? Have you tried any of the No7 High Shine Lipgloss range?

  2. This looks quite nice although I'm not a big lipgloss person. I wouldn't buy anything from No7 without a voucher!
