Review: Bobbi Brown Corrector in Extra Light Bisque

I've come to the conclusion that I will always have quite pronounced under eye circles, which will never significantly improve (well without surgery anyway!), but the one thing I can work on is the darkness of these circles. I'm not a great sleeper and it's rare that I don't look tired, so I'm always on the look out for beauty products that will lighten and brighten my eyes. I had my eye on the Bobbi Brown Corrector for a long time and finally bought it when I came across the Bobbi Brown counter in Liberty's at a blogger meetup in July. The very lovely sales assistant matched me up with the shade Extra Light Bisque, which is pink based and their second to lightest shade (the lightest is Porcelain Bisque). This little pot set me back £18.50 and comes with a mirror in the lid.

Bobbi Brown say, "Corrector is pink- or peach-based to neutralise under-eye darkness. New and improved formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just-right coverage that's easy to blend and won't crease. And since great makeup starts with healthy skin, Corrector is infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area."

The formula of the Bobbi Brown Corrector is very creamy and easy to work with. I apply it after eye cream and the area stays hydrated, which is something I need when it comes to eye products; my dark circles dry out so easily! I apply this anywhere I have darkness, so as well as directly under the eye, I extend the product up round the inner corner too. Although applying with a brush would be more hygenic, I do find it easier to use my fingers as it blends so easily. This does an absolutely fabulous job of neutralising darkness - once or twice I've even forgotten to apply concealer on top because it works so well. The Corrector is designed to be used before Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer and the sales assistant advised me to use a concealer of the same type of formula, as I was only intending to buy the Corrector. I use Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (review here) or Studio 78 Off We Go Anti-Dark Circles Concealer (review here) and both work just as well.

The Verdict
For me, the Bobbi Brown Corrector is a winner due to its formula and coverage, even though it has a high end price tag. I'm very conscious of my dark circles and it just helps dramatically. I'm very tempted to try the Creamy Concealer now - Bobbi Brown please bring out a Corrector and Creamy Concealer duo kit because I would definitely buy it! At the moment they just have a Creamy Concealer Kit, which contains the concealer and a powder to set, but no Corrector.

Have you ever tried the Bobbi Brown Corrector? What are your favourite products for brightening dark circles?

  4. I have the corrector and the concealer duo and i totally agree that a corrector/concealer duo would be really good. The powder in the duo is nice but i would rather have the corrector in there, or maybe make it a trio?!
