Two months ago today, myself and three other lovely bloggers - Natasha from Shot of Beauty, Poppy from Let's Drive Far Away and Rachel from Beauty Queen UK - set out on a two month spending ban. We all set our own rules and I'm pleased to say that we've all successfully made it without breaking them! However this is where you think we may be mad - we've all decided to carry on for another three weeks!! This is because in three weeks time we are all attending a blogger meetup in London, so decided that if we hold on that bit longer we can all have a big splurge together at the meetup.
To be honest I haven't found the spending ban too bad at all. I've had my moments where I've seen something and cried slightly inside (e.g. the absolute bargain Burt's Bees Summer Grab Bag), but I think that's to be expected! I've bought a couple of replacement products and allowed myself magazines, but that is all. I really do think that this ban will change my attitude to spending in the long run - it's really made me think about the difference between what I want and what I actually need. Saying that, I can't wait to have a little splurge in three weeks, but I'm expecting that guilty feeling!
Not many things have caught my eye to add to my wishlist apart from... flannels. Yes flannels. I totally want to jump on the Primark flannel bandwagon. I'll try and do a meetup wishlist in the next few weeks, what should I be adding onto it ladies??

DeleteWell done :) I was going to go to the London meet up but it would cost way too much for transport from Scotland :( Have a good time!

Thank you! Aw that's a shame but can imagine it would be expensive xx
DeleteCongratulations! I made it through my 100 day spending ban with no slip ups at all. At the end of it I thought the same thing, that it wasn't going to change my spending patterns, but I found it's actually had a huge difference! I'm far more picky with things I "want" haha!
ReplyDeleteGood luck for the next 3 weeks! Sounds like you'll do fine! :)
xx
Well done you!! I am going to try this sometime soon.. just need to build up the nerve, as I think it will be really hard.
