Review: Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade

This is the first time I've actually reviewed a Revlon lip butter, despite previously owning two before receiving this for my birthday! I also own Peach Parfait and Berry Smoothie. The shade Pink Lemonade has not very long been released, along with three other shades, as part of a limited edition collection called the "Pacific Coast Collection". I do really like the Revlon lip butters because they are a great compromise between lip balm and lipstick; you get the moisturising goodness of a lip balm and the pigmentation of a lipstick.

In the bullet Pink Lemonade is a very light, peachy pink that doesn't contain any glitter particles like with some of the other lip butters. I have to say that initially I was really underwhelmed by this shade because the colour is so sheer. The swatch on my hand above is a good three or four layers of colour, as is the picture of it applied to my lips. However, the more I've used Pink Lemonade the more I've started to like it. In the light the colour is actually really pretty, though is much more of a baby pink than peachy pink. It also has a lovely subtle sheen, making it the perfect shade for daytime. This is possibly the only lip butter you can get away with applying without a mirror, so it's ideal for when you're out and about. The colour lasts a few hours maximum.

Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Lemonade costs £7.99 and can be purchased from Boots here.

Have you picked up any of the limited edition lip butters? What's your favourite shade?

  2. I swatched this one but I found it so light I didn't think it would show on me at all and I much prefer brighter more visible shades at the moment x
