Review: Moonie Face Cloths

"Great skin doesn't have to be complicated, that's my inspiration behind Moonie."

This quote comes from the lovely Kia, the creator of Moonie face cloths and a fellow blogger over at Make Me Up. I saw on Twitter that Kia was to announce the launch of something exciting, so signed up to her exclusive preview. As soon I read it I knew that her Moonies were something I had to try!

What are Moonies?

Moonies are natural, unbleached, muslin face cloths and are handmade by Kia herself. They don't contain any chemicals and are suitable for all skin types. The muslin acts as a natural exfoliator and are designed to be a more effective way of cleaning your skin. They come in a pack of 3 for £5.99, which is a bargain if you ask me as that's less than £2.00 per Moonie! P&P was also free when I purchased these (limited time only offer - still on I believe!) The brand is fronted by the very cute and adorable Neil.

My Moonies arrived very quickly and packaged beautifully as you can see from the pictures below, complete with my very own Neil!

They are circular in shape and in my opinion the perfect size for using on your face. The texture is slightly rough to the touch but not harsh or irritating. I've been using them as a treat 1-2 times a week to remove my cleanser and they provide a gentle exfoliation that leaves my skin looking fresh and healthy. The Moonie also helped ease a patch of dry skin I'd been suffering with for a few days recently and any spots I have generally appear calmer and slightly less inflamed after use. Very impressive! They are also suitable to use everyday if you want to make them part of your daily skincare routine.

Another great thing about Moonies is that they can be used for other purposes beside cleansing- I've also been using them to steam my face and to remove face masks. I don't know why I haven't used a cloth to remove face masks before, it's so much easier!! Plus you can pop them in the washing machine to re-use again and again!

The Verdict
I think Moonie face cloths are so versatile and would be a great addition to anyone's skincare routine. I'm absolutely loving them! I love the fact that they're handmade, of good quality and that you can see the thought and effort put into them from the product and packaging. Plus they're not expensive and as they're washable, should last me for quite a long time!

Have you tried Moonie face cloths? Do you use any kind of face cloths for cleansing or otherwise?

  2. I think I'd buy these just for the amazing packaging, so cute! I love it when people go to efforts with packaging like this! I've used muslin cloths before when I used to use Liz Earle things but I just found them a bit too harsh on my skin - good old water just works best for me. xx

  7. Hi lovely, have missed your posts :)
These sound great, I always like to go organic where possible and I had no idea that Kia was making these herself. I love the cute packaging. I find that I get through my muslin cloths at a ridiculous speed so these are probably something I'll look into.
