Review: Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets

I haven't used blotting sheets for a long time - although I remember using some from Superdrug, which released a powder onto your face. I really wasn't keen on these; the finish wasn't smooth and could look uneven. So when I saw this new powder free release from Kleenex posted about by Vicki from Let's Talk Beauty I knew I had to try them! I always get a bit oily and shiny around my T-zone - not the best look!

The little cardboard pack contains 50 sheets, retailing at £2.99. The pack states;

"Dab away excess oil and keep your make-up intact."

Inside the pack is a little sticker, which will pick up a sheet for you every time you open the pack. I think this is a really nice touch and means you don't have to handle the sheets much before using them. The sheets are purple with a plain shiny side, which is to use on your face and a pretty matt patterned side, which is just for handling really and maybe blotting with style?

So do these work? Yes they really do - and you can see them working! Press the sheet against a shiny part of your face and the colour will change to a darker purple when it's absorbed any oil. Plus you can see it on your face too - no shine, no oil, your skin feels fresher and smoother and makeup has stayed perfectly intact, just as promised!

The Verdict
This is a great product, which does exactly what it says on the pack! I think the price is pretty good too - even Boots own blotting sheets are more expensive at £3.56. I will definitely be re-purchasing! I would much rather use this than keep applying face powder to combat shine and oil.

Do you use blotting sheets? Have you tried these by Kleenex?

  1. These sound good - I very rarely get oily in my old age (lol!) but these would be great to keep in my handbag for when I do. They are very pretty for blotting sheets! x

  5. These sound great, and very reasonably priced too. I have never felt the need for anything like this in the past but more recently my T-zone has decided to become oily, so now these are an absolute must as my makeup keeps sliding off!
    Hope you had a nice weekend lovely.
