Review: Dr Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Hand & Nail Cream

I was lucky enough recently to win this organic hand cream in a giveaway by Sarah from Sugarpuffish, who blogs about natural and free from beauty products. I am so glad because otherwise I wouldn't have discovered this fabulous product! I didn't think anything would top my beloved Soap and Glory Hand Food but amazingly, this has.

I'd never actually heard of the brand Dr Organic before this, but a quick Google and I found that the brand is multi award winning and can be purchased from Holland and Barrett. Dr Organic say that they "utilise only the finest natural and organic raw materials wherever possible". Their products do not contain mineral oils, animal ingredients, GM ingredients or chemicals such as parabens, SLS or artifical fragrances. Dr Organic have quite a range of products based around specific ingredients, including Moroccan Argan Oil, Dead Sea Mineral and the main ingredient of this hand cream, Virgin Coconut Oil.

Dr Organic describe this hand cream as "a fast absorbing, deeply hydrating and nutritious hand and nail treatment". It is also meant to be anti-aging. One look at the ingredients and you can tell how good it is going to be for hands and nails - as well as coconut oil, it contains Vitamins C and E, cocoa butter and aloe vera leaf juice, amongst others.

I absolutely love the smell, it's rich but not overpowering and quite luxurious really! On first impressions it did feel a little oily when applying, but wow, Dr Organic aren't exaggerating when they say this is fast drying. Within 10 seconds it's basically fully absorbed into the skin and makes your skin feel soft and hydrated, with no oiliness left behind.

I've been using this every night for the past few weeks before I go to bed and my hands feel and look in great condition. Plus there's the added bonus of this product - it's good for your nails too! There's no claim from Dr Organic of what this will actually do for your nails, but it's made such a difference to mine. They look healthier, I've experienced a lot less peeling and they've grown stronger. This is the first time in ages I've actually not cut them short!

The Verdict
Can you tell that I love this?!! I can't recommend it enough. It's a great treatment for your hands and nails, plus you can apply it when you're in a rush and on the go, not having to worry about waiting ages for it to absorb. Plus it's £5.99, which is a pretty good price! I'll definitely purchase this myself when it runs out.
