Beauty Cheat Sheet: Shaving

I love a good beauty cheat, especially if it saves me a bit of money (that I can then spend elsewhere hehe!). So the idea of a beauty cheat is being able to use a product that you might already have in your house for an alternative use. Or it at least costs you less if you have to buy it especially!

This beauty cheat is shaving. I find that proper shaving products like Veet or Gillette for shaving your legs are pretty expensive, so instead I use... hair conditioner. I've been using Tesco Smooth Conditioner in Coconut, which is just £0.88 for 750ml! It has lasted me absolutely aaaaaaages. The formula is pretty thick so there's a decent barrier between your razor and your skin. I don't get any cuts or nicks and it personally doesn't irritate my legs. Plus they feel super smooth afterwards.

I also read that baby oil is good to use for shaving, so I've given this a go too! I used Tesco Baby Moisturising Oil, which is £1.79 for 500ml. It works just as well as conditioner but I did find that I was a bit more careful when shaving, as the razor feels a lot closer to your skin! But again, hello super smooth legs!

I'm hoping to make this a (fairly) regular post! Would you guys like to see more of this sort of thing? Are there any beauty cheats that you recommend I try?

  2. Very useful tip! Shaving products, at least good ones, cost an arm and a leg where I live. Thanks for the recommendations ^^

  3. Interesting idea, I've used natural body oil before and it works well. Tesco Own Brand shaving gel (in purple can smells fruity) is only a £1 :)

  4. You:ve just reminded me that I used to do this and then stopped and just started using normal bubbly soap for some reason (: May have to start again, it's a good excuse because I need to buy a new conditioner to match my new shampoo but still have loads of old stuff left and felt guilty leaving it haha (: xx
